Over the past four years, Cristina has been a doctoral student at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). She has a background in environmental science and holds an MSc in Public Health.
She has worked on epidemiological studies investigating the effects of air pollution on mental health, in particular addressing anxiety and depression. She has also experience carrying out fieldwork within the European project EXPOsOMICS.
In the BlueHealth project, Cristina has been working on the community-level interventions conducted in Barcelona. She was responsible for designing the study protocols, recruiting participants, and collecting and analysing the data. Her PhD thesis is based on the data collected from the BlueHealth interventions conducted in Barcelona. In June 2020, Cristina successfully defended her PhD in Barcelona.
