Places are now available at an exciting event exploring the use of virtual reality in elderly care settings.

Lund University are hosting the ‘Innovation Slam‘, which is open to anyone with an interest in social care, digital technology, and wellbeing research.

The event will provide the opportunity to try out the latest virtual reality hardware and explore a computer generated virtual island. Discussions will focus on the barriers to using this technology in elderly care settings, and how we might overcome them.

The BlueHealth Innovation Slam programme offers a unique opportunity to not only learn about the latest research but also get involved and contribute to its future.

This event follows the work already completed in the lab by PhD student Rikard Lundstedt and will feed into a larger study trialling virtual nature in care homes in Sweden and Estonia later in the year.

The event will be from 12:00 – 16:00 on Thursday March 14th 2019, with lunch provided.
