Dr David Donaire Gonzalez is physiotherapist, psychologist and environmental epidemiologist.
Since 2007, David has been working as an epidemiologist in the Respiratory and Environmental Health research unit at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal).
He has received several awards for his work on the effects of physical activity on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) from the European Respiratory Society (2007), the College of Physiotherapists of Catalunya (2009) and the Scientific Committee of the XIV COPD Symposium (2014).
Since 2012, David’s has been particularly focused on developing continuous personal exposure measurement using novel technologies. His expertise has contributed to several international projects including TAPAS, PHENOTYPE, HELIX, EXPOsOMICs, and PASTA as a means to examine the effect of exposure on individuals’ health and travel behaviours.
David has a PhD in Physical Activity and Health Sciences. He brings his expertise in smart physical activity monitoring to BlueHealth.
